Canberra Airport recorded a minimum of -6.9C overnight which I'm pretty sure has equalled the May record. I guess you can look forward to a -10C in winter if this keeps up. 
Actually, forget that. The record May minimum in Canberra is -7.5C on the 30th of May in 1976. This morning's minimum is pretty impressive though because we are only halfway through the month.
BTW: 9C here atm, miserable cloudy weather like we have had almost the whole month.

It's not even that temp indoors here
. Good job we imported all our winter stuff. 
The funny thing is these lower temperatures dont feel as cold as they did in the UK
