Know the feeling. 8am, temp only mid 20's but one of those humid days where you feel like you are breathing murky water.
Hate the summer in OZ, hairdryer heat or humid clag.
Never mind
off to UK on Sunday, makes temps of 3 - 9 look very comfortable indeed.

9:30am and knocking on 35 - and very windy. Glad we live in town. I'm surprised the fire rating isn't higher for the Central region today........

36C here today. The fire danger wasn't severe because of all the rain we have had, you couldn't start a fire if you tried. Also the early cool change reduced the danger and reasonable humidity.
Out in Gippsland though, where they haven't had the heavy rain that we have, it's a very different story.
Unfortunately, total fire bans seem to be a call to arms for arsonists. It is amazing how many fires pop up when they are declared when we can have heaps of severe fire danger days with nothing.
