What's the chances ?

We have just had our medicals and expect to receive our visa soon, but we have decided to delay departure as the research we have done from home and from visiting job agencies and talking to people when we were in Perth on holiday last month, seems to be that it is VERY difficult to secure employment in Perth. My husband has been told that as an accountant he would have to sit two exams (Australian Law and Tax) to obtain work. This he will have to do distance learning, the course starting in July lasting 4 months. So it looks like we will have to wait until after Christmas (no point looking for work Nov-Jan I'm told).
We were thinking of once we receive our visas of trying to apply for work PRIOR to arrival. Has anyone heard of anyone securing employment in this way ? (I'm not talking about inter-company transfers). I've heard of a couple of people getting jobs in New Zealand by telephone interviewing but not for Oz.

Any advice please ?

Hiya,

I am also in Scotland but heading for Brisbane, I have contacted a very reputable agency who said that 3 months prior to arrival they will start searching for work for me and telephone interview me if need be.

So I could get a job for when I arrive.

good luck

Carrianne
