When I open the kitchen blinds I have around 30 regular birds awaiting a morning feast of bread.

We sometimes get idiots parking across our drive

Broken up bread across the dash and windscreen results in strategic bird shit

For overnight offenders eggs harden in about 20 minutes

I dream of the days when I just got bird shit on the car.

These days it's 800 piles of possum poo. I don't even know how they manage it.

Move to a house in the suburbs. No trees = no possums = no possum shit.

Never get sick of the drive down our road..never ceases to amaze me. I haven't seen another location like this anywhere in Melbourne. Mixture of avenue then valley. You can see for several k's to rolling hills..

People occasionally have a grumble about the AU burbs and I can understand why, but their comments do not apply to this location.

Positive benefits of rural landscape with close proximity to urban facilities.
Also you have the benefited from neighbor's who take the time to know each other. Sorry forgot the name of your suburb but have family near by in Cockatoo

But what would wake me up when I fall asleep in front of the telly, if I didn't have a herd (obviously not the correct term but jeez, they sound like a herd) of possums dancing across the veranda roof?

There are a couple of possibilities re a group of possums: a party, or a grin. In the USA it's a passel of possums.

Not so close infact: its deceptive, and very very different in some ways. I couldn't live in the Dandenongs.

It's been nice reading your responses!! I've been off here for a while after my surgery so this has put a smile on my face.
