Same as UK, only some have different names, any Honda, Toyota will do you very well and last for years as they don't rust as much in Aus (god hope I don't get accused of wearing the rose tinted for this post lol)

Toyotas are generally considered to be the most reliable. Those things just keep on keeping on; they never die!
Cars do take a lot longer to rust Down Under. I have been gobsmacked at the speed with which UK vehicles pick up rust spots; it's like foot & mouth disease for cars! :scared:
As for cheapest - any of the Korean brands. Hyundai, Daewoo, that sort of thing.

I was also really surprised. I think it is from the gritting in winter.

Yeah a bloody car when I get there. I don't want to rely on my poor sister and her hubby.
Also do you have to take the driving test too like you would in QLD. See everything was geared to QLD but I have to go to my sisters in Perth before I can visit other sis in Brissy
