If you already have your skills assessment and your visa then you don't need to get another one from Vetassess. The vetassess assessment is for visa application only.

It does give you a certificate to say you can have a provisional licence for your trade, but you will still have to do all the licencing courses that are required for your trade when you get here to be able to apply for a full licence.

The assessment is for migration purposes, so the only thing it will get you is a huge bill

Your OH would still need to do a contractors course if he wants to work for himself, he'll also have to do the blue card (or whatever colour it is in the state you're going to) etc.

The certificate that people will get from Vetassess will only entitle you to a 'provisional' licence, to get a full licence you will still have to do an Australian course.

It really isn't worth it

Why would he need to do a contractors course? as a brickie I would think he would have to do a Building Services Course and get a BSA licence to be self employed- By the Way an ABN number can be apllied for on line, and the blue card can be done on line at Blue Dog .com.au well something similar do a google should find it straight away.
