What are you allergic to?
I went to the hospital yesterday to see the asthma specialist and they did some skin prick tests.
I was meant to leave it on for 15 minutes but started reacting quite badly after 5 so the nurse had to wash off the substance and apply steroid cream. In that short space of time I showed a strong response to mould, house dust mite and the worst one was Cockroach!!!! I never even knew you could be allergic to cockroaches but the specialist said its a big problem with allergic asthma. Where I work, we have loads of roach bait traps as I work on an industrial estate, you can imagine how many we have. So now I have been put on 2 additional inhalers, totalling 90 bucks a month:eek::thumbdown: Its not as easy as people think to change jobs either so I shall make the best of it. What are you allergic to, have you developed any strange allergies since moving? (still trying to get my head around the cockroach thing:eek:) |
Re: What are you allergic to?
Funnily enough I have been thinking about this recently. I had a cold/cough back in January, and since then I have had a persistent cough and also very slight asthma symptoms (which I had as a child/teen but grew out of). Anyway, I went to turn our mattress over the other day and noticed that there are a few spots of mould on the bottom:scaredhair: which I presume is something to do with the humidity (I guess). I am wondering if the mould spores are causing an allergy which is presenting itself in mild asthma symptoms and a cough. I slept in the spare bedroom since and have got much better, so I think a new mattress is in order.

Re: What are you allergic to?
Not a thing. Used to get quite bad hay fever in the UK as we lived close to rape growing area and I reacted badly. Since being here not a thing.

Green ants - have to get to doc's for a shot.
Not allergic to March flies but they really hurt  |
Re: What are you allergic to?
Cornwall, Jersey and Guernsey and Dorset or Devon (can't be sure which, thinking it was Dorset though).
It may not be the entire county/island that I'm allergic to, but it would appear to be something in the drinking water. Never did get round to finding out what it was. |

Plasters! But only on my hands and arms. If I need one anywhere else I am fine.
