Yes, good one. Give me a couple of weeks and I'll post my answers (!!) - maybe in the meantime we can hear from people like Rosy........

In your opinion.

Just because I cant think of anything I would miss does not mean I am in the wrong place or that I should leave a.s.a.p

If someone misses somthing about UK should they get out of Oz a.s.a.p ?

Well, apart from the obvious, like Mrs DagBoy and the little DagBoys, I would miss the following (in no particular order):

The pristine beaches
The fishing
Living near the bay
The Lorikeets and Galahs in the garden
A stress free commute to work
The fact that the sun is shining nearly every single day
Being able to sit outside in shirtsleeves in winter
Not having to wear a suit jacket for work
Never needing a coat
The awesome summer thunderstorms
Sitting in the outside spa in the evenings
Being able to afford acreage but still being within 17km of a big city
(by the way, I grew up on the edge of the fens, so in my book anything bigger than Ely is a heaving metropolis - Brisbane is definitely a big city)
The very much more laid back attitude at work
The shorter working days
My nephew's pineapple farm
Exotic fruit growing in the back yard
Our boat
Free BBQ sites all around the city
The seafood
Quality playgrounds for the kids everywhere

I am sure there are plenty more, but that will do for now
Cheers,

DagBoy

Only joking, keep your shirt on. As an Aussie living in Scotland I was just interested in seeing the replies - will it be aussie rules, vegemite, weather etc, etc. But now I think it there are lots of things I will miss about Scotland and the UK when I move back to Oz - can't you think of one thing? Obviously you wouldn't miss the Aussie sense of humour!

Couldn't say it better myself - makes the UK look like a complete *&*^%£$%^ heap. (esp. the parks and public toilets)

Mike.

Mrs Dagboy your list is everthing I hope to want out there! Hope it happens for me too!
I can almost hear the Parrots chirping in the trees now.

Tina's mention of parrots reminded me - you know how you see a cat sitting on a fence trying to catch sparrows in a tree? Well, one of the weirdest sights I've seen - and one that always reminds me of the difference in countries - was a cat sitting on the fence - trying to catch the PARROTS as they flew in and out. Small red and green rosellas, and the cat missed I'm pleased to say!

Tina, that was (Mr) Dagboys post, not mine, but I would agree with all his points & add a heap more if I were compiling a list.

Polly, we have flocks of lorikeets, rosellas & parrots in our garden all the time, sometimes we feed them , they really are gorgeous .
