They were 5-6 times the average income. Something was going to give. It just took another 4 years before it did.

Hi Hevs. If you need to ask the forum if you should rent or buy then you haven't done your due diligence and sums! There are plenty of online calculators to see if it is worth it in your particular case. For me, current interest rates, cost of borrowing, holding costs - rent wins outright EASILY. Especially with house prices flat in Perth since 2007 and no chance of this changing anytime soon with a 50% oversupply in listings and rising!

Its only a problem if you are investing or over stretched. We have sold into the market that we have bought into, ie...slow and slowly decreasing/ leveling. When we come to sell in 10 / 15 years time I dont think I'm going to be in neg equity

So glad that it was all hypothetical because we have found a perfect property that we can live in, but plenty of room for capital improvement when we feel like it....on an acre...two titles..cant go wrong really

Here you go

Deck with a hint at the view but doesn't do it justice

Bedroom that obviously needs redecoration but again you get an idea of the view

But this is our home to live in and we are not over stretched so...
