Default What were you nervous about before heading to Aus?

Keen to find out what people found hard up until leaving, and then upon arrival in Aus.

This is the smart reply: http://britishexpats.com/forum/showt...96#post8703496

The useful reply is...I was so bloody busy I didn't have time to be nervous!

Were we doing the right thing?
Will I cope with all this stress without killing anyone in my family?
Will I survive all the goodbyes?
Will we ever get on that plane?

I could go on but it's really quite a horrible memory!

Cant remember that I felt nervous about anything really. I was far more nervous moving to PNG.

This is true.

I was nervous that all the negative people on his forum were right. I hadn't seen any of the negatives that they talked about during my reccie and holidays in Australia, and though maybe it would be different once I lived here, and all the negatives would affect me too.

3 years on, and I still haven't seen any of those negatives....

I can't say I was ... in retrospect, given I was marrying someone who I'd known for 2 weeks and was going to meet her in a maternity ward straight off the plane, so this surprising.

To be honest I didn't mind leaving the UK at all, I'd had no job for 3 years, no home so what the hell?

Life is, as they say, too short not to.

Can I bid for the rights to the story. Can we do it in one serial - next Sunday perhaps?

Not nervous - as nothing to lose. I knew there was work, and I knew we'd slot in somewhere.
My wife thought I'd get us out of any trouble. They were trusting days!

You don't want the rights ... 6 episodes of dullness then 3 of wierdness ... the network would have cancelled it after week 2!

It is a good story to tell at BBQs though ...

Seems like a bloody long time ago now.
