Many thanks

Traditional weatherboard = wood cladding (not asbestos). A 1920s house would have 100% wood weatherboard; newer houses often have Hardie Plank weatherboard, which is not a natural product but not asbestos either.

Bottom line: weatherboard is safe.

Hi Vash

Many thanks for that, had visions of us paying a small fortune if any repairs needing doing.

No worries mate.

Incidentally, I owned an asbestos house in WA. (See attached). I never had any problems with it, and even when I had aircon installed, there were no significant issues involved; we simply had to take sensible precautions when making a hole in the wall.

God no!! <insert throwing up smilie here>

Not that kinda house.

Actually, I want to do something with the front of it to funk it up a little, its a bit bare if you ask me. I want to put a railing around the front deck area but not sure what else...have put some more plants in since that photo was taken, but it still needs something....

Something funky... maybe a railing but done with wire instead of wood...
