Default what visa?

I am emigrating to melbourne in november. My eldest son is not comming with us as he is at university. He is taking a year out in june 2005 and wants to get a replacement in australia for that year. What kind of visa would he apply for? As a working visa you cannot stay with an employer for more than three months at a time.

Why on earth is he not included as a dependent on your own visa application?
Then he could validate his visa and move to Australia at his leisure as long as he did so within a few years.

It is *not* easy to sponsor children for migration once they become legally independent. If your son is still dependent on you now you may be able to sponsor for a Dependent Child visa, but the first thing DIMIA will ask is why wasn't he on your own migration application.

Short answer - get good professional advice urgently. This is way too important to be relying on an online forum.
