What to take for first three months?

Hi there

We are flying out to Sydney a week today... :-D

Just planning what to take with us for the first three months til our container arrives.... Any thoughts (other than the obvious clothes etc)? Was there anything you wished you had popped in your case but mistakenly sent on the ship?

Thanks guys... Any help appreciated. Oh, and btw, we have a 2 and a 5 year old if that helps? And we have a temporary, furnished house til our stuff arrives.

Thanks again.

Mary

hi
take as many toys as you can fit in your bags, familiarity with toys will make them feel a lot better, new toys will keep them occupied for a few hours old toys will keep them occupied for days. that was my boys main issue he wanted his old toys from "home", anyway good luck with it.

Hi, we have been in Bayside, Brisbane for 5 weeks. If you are bringing electricals then don't let someone put the leads/chargers on the container - like we did DOH. The camcorder doesn't make a nice ornament! Rucksacks are expensive out here. Large ones are used as school bags, they are pennies at home but $40+ here. Also bring a 4 way extension lead and a good travel adaptor. Put lots of these on the container as well if you have lots of UK electricals coming.

Best of luck with the move.

Toys and books for the children, lots of warm clothing. It does get quite cold here this time of year, especially indoors if you have no heating, and overnight.

I'd echo that - adapters, multi-plug power boards, and of course the numerous leads and chargers - all essential Aussie houses generally have very few power points and leads runing everywhere, so power boards are much sought after.
