Re: What SUV
Has to be the Prado.
Plus You can really beef up a Prado. Bull bars, Snorkel, Roof Racks, Step Bars, Double tyres on Rear, Oversize CB Aerial, fishing rod holders, kick ass tyres.... I think I just came ...just a little. :o |
Re: What SUV
Get a Rav4!!!
I luv it!!! Easy on gas and the pocket. I am not sure about the build quality coming to Australia but I guess it is the same as the one I got here in North America is a Japan made unit. I have been to the Mojave Desert here and done cross country from the West Coast to East Coast..still drives well. I have the 2008 Model... |
Re: What SUV
I reckon the new Mistubushi Challenger looks fantastic.

Re: What SUV
You could get a boring Prado, like everyone else does, or you could get a big shiny BMW x5 with really nice 22" rims, and look like a complete and utter W*****. All depends on what youe using it for, if you really are not going to be touring or going off road, then a mid sizer. Outland, outback, x-trail, LR Freenland 2, are good cars.

I was gutted when someone rammed and wrote off our Camry ... it was a great car. F**kin hoon commodores. |
Re: What SUV
I will throw another one into the mix if its not going off road.
A Nissan Murano. We have one and its bloody brilliant. Its also not just another boxy 4x4. Styling is very different and you either love it or hate it. We had a Subaru Forester prior to this and the difference in performance/build/feel is a major step up. Despite it being a more expensive car to buy the insurance actually went down... cheaper Nissan replacement parts coming into the equation. |

I now drive a Falcon :( I miss my Hi-Lux  |
Re: What SUV
We've also got a Toyota Kluger and it's great. The seat configuration is really flexible, seats 7 comfortably with airbags for all, drinks holders and drop-down DVD player if you get the deluxe version. We've had steps and a roof tray fitted. We wouldn't attempt real 4x4 in it (Canning Stock Route, etc), but it's great for beach driving. There are companies who teach you how to do 4x4 driving, plus the soft AWD types.
