Default What sort of spider is camping outside my house?

Hi all,

We have a lodger, well a free-loader! If we got charged rent by weight, I think it would pay more than my wife!

Anyway its quite cute but seems bigger than many huntsmen also here!

What is it????

If you are in WA Iwould say an orange orb weaver, comes out at night and then eats the web and contents next morning, then starts again next night, great for keeping bugs and mozzies down along with the huntsman of course.

Definitely looks like an orb weaver spider, but there are lots of different types, maybe this one.......?

awww what a cutey. You know its not the big ones im so worried about when we get over there, at least there easy to spot, i more worried about the little ones, like red backs oh and nasty horrible cockroaches. all the more reason to adopt a huntsman or two, not sure my hubbie agrees though.

Hi, just been doing some research and yes I think as others do, that it is a Golden Orb Weaver.

Check this site and picture - looks spot on

Cool spider, not sure I'd put my hand that near to it though! Are they OK like the huntsman?
