What should we buy in UK before moving to Melbourne?
With the high Aussie dollar, we figure it will be beneficial to buy/bring certain things in the UK in £ to avoid the high cost of buying in Melbourne.
Any advice on what would be really beneficial? - so far I really only have investigated kitchenware (small appliances, le creuset, cookware etc)

Anything you may need furniture wise, box of fave toiletries ( razorblades) kids toys bought loads of playmobil before leaving; oh and shoes....

Beer, if you like a decent pint of Cider or Cask Ales, as much as you can.......
At $10+ bucks a pint, its enough for me to dry out!

Bedding is something I was pleased to bring. Sheets, duvets (winter and summer), flat sheets fi
for summer and fitted sheets for your beds. We brought everything with us. Apart from our bikes. I wish we did though as they are expensive here like everything is. So just bring as much as you can. Oh and shoes, work shoes. Trainers, kids shoes and even flip flops oh and work clothes, especially suits for interviews.

Thanks for all the helpful advice. Gut feeling is telling me everything is going to seem expensive before we earn some Aus dollars!

I so wished I hadn't "downsized" when I can to Melbourne .... everything is more expensive here and the quality of furniture etc generally not that great.

I wish that I had bought Le Creuset pots and pans in the sales in the UK. You can get them here, but they are well pricey.

Furniture, books and clothes. Cannot stress the last one enough.....clothes are expensive in Australia and generally are inferior quality.
