OK then.
Mountain creek has mt ck high and primary, very large schools, often mentioned on here as fab. BIG variety of opinions on them once you meet loads of people (aussies included) and hear various experiences. High % of poms in the primary and know the school often has large class sizes due to constant influx of immigrants.
Kawanas got kawana high which had a bad reputation couple of years back, probably no more than the usual teenage behaviour which gets OTT now and again. Bokarina, Buddina and Aroona way all have state primary schools.
Look if your going state, pretty much wherevers going to depend on the luck of the draw each year as in mix of kids and what the teacher you get - thats why a school thats called fab by one person is called crap by another.
Loads of privates too, from religious - cheap fees and often full, to the 'top' (opinions again) ones that charge around $10,000 (cheap in Uk not cheap in australain wages) Matthew flinders is expensive but will push kids for high academic results. Buderim and Caloundra both have other privates, drivng distance from mt creek or kawana depending on which bit you rent in. Some schools have zones, have to live in zone to attend.

Thanks for the advice we had looked into Mountain Creek but it is zoned and the houses there are very few and far between!!! Was just looking at other options, I might try and look more into Private also as we are on a study visa and have to pay for the kids to attend state school anyway!!!!

Loads of houses for sale in Mountain Creek zone, we know of 2 english families who have arrived in the last 3 or 4 weeks and they have bought already.
As others have said, the high school gets highly rated on here, personally we don't think it's anything special but they are patient with our 18 year old!!

I didnt think you could buy a house when you move over straight away?? We popped to see the school in the summer and I liked the idea that the high school was just over the road. The only thing is that you have to be tied to the Mountain Creek area which is not a problem but I think we are going to have to rent for the first few months anyway!!! (It just doesnt give us a vast choice)

Re: What schools in Sunshine Coast?
We moved into the MC area about a year and a half ago and it's not all made up of POMS:curse:
As for the MC state school, well it's the dogs nuts!! The classes are not large,(24-26) well not by UK (London) standards anyway. The school is one of the top two schools in Queensland, beating many Private schools into that position. How many comprehensives do that in the UK ?
Anyway, I can't speak highly enough of it and the MC area. Christ, we will even soon have our own boozer

Not loads of houses for sale on the MC estate, not more than Buderum anyway. (although you won't see a sign for Buderum on the Bruce highway). Only joking Kev
There are a few for rent at MC, but you have to get in quick these days....good luck.
Where ever you decide to go on the SC, you won't be making a bad choice - honest

Yo Kev, that dog in the pictures is that yours ? Just looks like the one I've seen a gizza walking passed our house in Boccaccio and was wondering whether it was you ?
