Hello all i know that RWC stands for Road Worthy Certificate, but how do you go about getting one and should a car come with one when bought.
Thanks in advance

Hi Carl,

You get a RWC by taking it a garage that does them, they have a look at the car do some checks, bit like an MOT and they give you a bit of paper to show you've got a RWC. If you're advertising the car i.e. Putting a For Sale sign in the window you must display your RWC.

We've bought 3 cars since we've been here and each time we see the RWC but we don't take it with us when we bought them. We've also sold one car and gave the guy a copy of it. I'm almost positive that it's illegal to sell a car without one...

These are QLD requirements being talked about, each state has its own approach.

It's possible to sell a car in QLD without a safety certificate if that vehicle is unregistered.

Yes you can sell that car without a RWC if the car is unregistered, the new owner then has to get a RWC
