Default What route did you take

Has anyone flown to Australia via the States?

We have been quoted to fly

LON - MIAMI (VIRGIN)
MIAMI - LOS ANGELES( UNITED AIRLINES)
LOS ANGELES - MELBOURNE (AIR NEW ZEALAND)

Total cost for 3 adult fares (Including 5 day Disney pass)
£4314
This doesn't include any accomodation /car/insurance or spends

With an optional stay in the Cook Islands(accomm extra)

What other routes have you gone?

Tried doing a search can't seem to find what I am looking for

The best thing about flying through the States is the extra baggage allowance. Each adult gets to take 2 suitcases of 32kg each whereas if you go through Asia you can only take 1 suitcase weighing 26kg.

We flew with United London- Orlando- Las Vegas- La - Sydney for around 500 each. Travelmood had by far the cheapest prices for united. we also collected over 70 000 air miles with Star Alliance.

United are pretty basic, service isnt very good but they do stop anywhere in the states.

We intend flying via the states when we leave for Oz.

Looking at flights towards the end of Nov beginning of Dec.

The route would be London-San Fran-Vegas-LA-Brisbane.

We have been quoted approx £600 each for one way tickets thats with BA/QANTAS.

We are mainly doing it for the extra baggage but it will be nice to have a weeks holiday at the various locations.

TT

We are still thinking about which way to fly. We did think about Orlando, but maybe we will go for LA Disney or Tokyo if I have my way. Hubby wants to go straight there but might be persuaded to Bali or another far east destination

I highly recommend stopping off in the Cook Islands. It's a fantastic place. A real tropical paradise.
