What if immigration controls were gone?
What would happen if OZ lifted all immigration controls for British citizens and any Pom who wanted to immigrate to OZ could, just like New Zealanders can, no education, skills or qualifications needed, Would there be a big increase in the numbers of Poms immigrating to OZ or would the numbers stay about the same?

££££££££££££££££!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!! - Quite simple.
Also, I large number of (British) people that I work with here in London are very p!ssed off at the moment because we're all waiting in limboland for news on redundancy. I have pointed out to several of them that they have the qualifications and skills necessary to get in under skilled migration easily but they are just not interested. One chap even says to me that he would love to move to Oz but he won't get off his butt and do anything about it, even when I've given him all the weblinks to immigration, this forum, everything.
So in answer to your question, yes immigration would increase because a number of people who genuinely want to come to Oz but can't quite get the points necessary would be able to come, but there's a hell of a lot of people in their comfort zone who are just too afraid of the unknown and will whinge about Britain, dream about Oz, but never actually take the necessary steps to do anything about it!
Cheers
