Default what Happens Now?

Can anyone shed some light on how things happen after you submit all the paperwork?.
For example, do you get an email telling you who is dealing with your application, or do you just get a letter saying approved or rejected. No agents involved so i have no idea what happens or how long things take.

You wait and wait and then wait some more. If you ring them you get put on hold for ages or you get someone answer that gives you one word answers to your questions. They are far to busy to talk to you as they are processing applications that takes them far to bloody long. You will then get a letter saying yes or no. If yes You then have to part with lots of money . When you do get the go ahaed you have to wait some more. Then you go for medicals and wait again. Hang in there but dont give up your job just yet. Ours took 2 years

We got an email, with our case officer's name (which since changed) and our case number. Not everyone gets this though!
In the meantime, you just have to get on with life, get addicted to expats... then eventually you get this yellow envelope requesting your meds... then it all goes mad & hectic again! We didn't use an agent... so don't worry!
