What Foods Do You Miss From the UK?

Re: What Foods Do You Miss From the UK?
Some quick research (from various sources) as I'm bored at work:
McDonalds 'restaurants' in Australia - just under 800
McDonalds 'restaurants' in the UK - just under 2700 with plans to open 300 more in the next few years

Mmm, apparently the UK has around 1200 McDonalds whereas Australia has close to 800 with a third of the population, wow.

I have noticed that there are not many ready made meals available in supermarkets which surprised me because Australia is now the second fattest nation on earth. Not surprising really with the availability of fast food on every corner.
I have read through all the replies and want to second missing proper fish and chips (cod and fat chips). British fish and chip shop Chumleys in Birkdale (Brisbane) do good fish and chips. The cod is flakey, not mushy like you'd find in a fish and chip take away here and the chips decent. I think they're trying to sell up though so it's bound to go down hill. If you're thinking of going, go early, the queues are long. My local makes each order as it comes in, one at a time, so you have to wait at least 45 mins and it's shite. Who does that? How are these people still in business?

McDonalds plan to open another 1300 stores worldwide this year, I doubt 300 of those will be in the UK though
I dislike the rise in popularity in both countries but I must admit I am amazed to see that Australia has 2/3rds as many as the UK but a third of the population.
