Default What do we do now??

Hi guys

well 47sk has arrived in Oz and the agent has taken his fees and the visa application charge so the question now is...

What do we do now?

I've read a million threads and have a substantial amount of info at my fingertips but appear to have frozen. Do I do the meds and police check now?

How about putting the house on the market, or even contacting the removal company? Everything is more or less packed!!

HELP

TIA

Andy

You've a good 4 - 5 months wait to do. If you want to front load your meds then give it at least 3 months from acknowledgement as they are only valid for 12 months, this may only be 6 months if there is any medical problems.

As for your house, you'd have to decide what you'd do if you sold before you got your visa. Where would you live? etc

Do a bit of research on the local market in your area and see how long it is taking to sell similar houses. If they are getting snapped up then wait a while, if they are taking ages to sell then think about doing it sooner.

At the end of the day you need to think about when you want to be there, if you want to go as soon as your visa is granted then aim for getting everything organised by September/October

Cheers Wend.

What? 4-5 months before I have to fill in another form??

Meds shouldn't be a problem, touch wood.

Houses could be a problem. A house down the road sold in two and a half months while another has been on the market 3 years!! Plus they've decided to dig the road up at the entrance to our cul-de-sac. We're having some work done inside this weekend...plastering the walls in the conservatory and new bedroom and bathroom carpets/lino next week. We were gonna stick it on the market after that.

Am I right in thinking that it's about 2/3 months before I get a CO? THEN 2/3 months before I get an answer?

More like 3 - 4 months for a CO. Then once meds are in it takes anything form 2 - 12 weeks for your visa grant.

Hi Wendy and co and sorry to but in.
I know that there will be a medical occurence with me although there should be no problem if that makes sense. Does this considerably slow things down? I know its all down to doctors letters e.t.c but does it really affect things. My job has just gone modl and does this speed the process up - thanks james.

It shouldn't slow things down that much if you can get hold of as much info as possible before your medicals. Try to get your doctor to give you a letter explaining whats wrong, what you are doing with regards treatment etc. Also if you have any specialists reports or anything like that to take to your medical, it should all help as it will save you having to do it all after your medicals have been done.

If your job's gone on the MODL list before you have applied then yes it will speed things up by about 3 - 4 months. I think the timescales are officially 6 months MODL (more like 5 though) and 6 - 9 months non MODL (around 7 - 8)
