Jeremy - Citizenship
Jeremy
Thanks for your interest re my sons status. My limited understanding was that although we had PR at the time of his birth in Aus, due to the fact that he has only spent 6 months out of the last 12 years in Aus, he would have to wait until he was 25 (used to be 18?) to gain citizenship?

"Since 20 August 1986, citizenship is acquired if, at the time of the person's birth
in Australia, at least one parent is either an Australian citizen or a permanent
resident of Australia."
Doesn't matter how long he's spent in Australia since, and no need to wait until he's
25. He's been an Australian citizen since the day he was born.
