There's also a rink in the Gold Coast at Bundall.

Re: What do I do with my 3.5 year old?
this is interesting if some what confusing, We hope to be in Brissy early next year.
My daugther will be 4 next May (2009) and we need to find full time childcare, whilst my wife and i are at work, she currently goes to nursery 3 days aweek (8am - 5pm) and her Gran looks after her 1 day a week as my wife only works 4 days a week.
what are our options?
thanks

Re: What do I do with my 3.5 year old?
But when they're old enough to go to the proper kindy it only costs $50 a term (state school two school days a week). My son just started this year, and as a boy with a birthday in July I've had to wait until he was 4.5, but it was worth it, he loves it and was so ready to go.
Im a little confused................ what is the difference from kindy and nursery????
Also how old do you have to be to go to kindy? My eldest is due to start school January 2009.
Also do anyone know where is there a "kindy" on the Gold Coast??
Thanks

basically - and crudely over-simplyfing:
"KINDY" = School like educational program, short days, fixed days, structured curriculum. Open term time only (i.e. 40 weeks of the year) - suits those aged 3.5-5 until they start proper school.
"NURSERY" = UK term for Daycare
"DAYCARE" = Facility to look after kids, longer hours (to cover parents working hours) and open 52 weeks a year, avilable from newborn to 5yr until they start school and *may* include a 'kindy' program for older kids - but likely to be less structured than specialist kindy centres.

My daughter will be 5 on 7th July, hence just misses cut off!! She will be 5 1/2 when she starts school here!! I appealed stating she already had been offered a place in UK and was more than ready to start school - the appeal was declined - arrrgghhh
