What To Do First When You Get To Perth?
Hello all
going to australia /perth next year just wondering what was the first things you need to do when you arive ? also any info on doctors/ dentist tax number so on . can any one in perth help with this many thanks

I would first take a week or two to enjoy the place .. u need a tax file number which u can do over the phone or online .. if you dont get one any money you have in the bank they can take 50p/c of the interest which you cant claim back until the end of the financial year .. think its is 30 Jun 07 ..
medicare are all over just need passport and birth cert .. go in to any office and register .. as for credit cards and phone contracts dont even bother trying until you are in employment even if you had a plenty money in the bank they wont give you one .. depends on what job you are doing but most trades need a abn number .. most wont let u start without one .. can take upto 28 days .. ours took abt 14 ...
