Just curious as, in hindsight, we wouldn't have spent as much as we did. The poll's anonymous.

$17,500. Did spend $50,000 on and extention a good few years later. It is brick and tile. As you have no doubt guessed, that was more that a couple of years ago!!

$330K in September 06. Slightly over our planned budget - but definitely worth it

OK, I have been here a long time - $45k. I can remember well, looking aghast when the price for most houses soared to $100k and I wondered how all those poor folk managed their mortgage payments because in the days of high interest it was like you paid and paid and never knocked anything off the darned principal anyway.

i knocked my previous owner down over $80,000 to bring it just under the $500,000 stamp duty threshold
