Default what computer language does one speak?

Hi,
husband just finishing degree in i.t.,in process of applying to emmigrate to Perth.
What language does pethite computers speak?
We realise 'oracle' is widely used(unlike here of course which is typical, hub is not familiar widely with oracle)
I guess we are wondering if it is necessary to learn the language of oz computers to get a job or does it matter?.......................

Not sure what you mean by programming, if you mean applications programming the you won't go much wrong with C++ or Java. Try this link http://www.programmingfromhome.com/ its a telecomute site but if you trawl through it you will get a flavour for whats available. Not an Australian site I'm affraid but might help hubby decide what to specialise in.

Since when was Oracle not widely used here? News to me and I've been involved with Oracle since 1996.
