Yep, Fortitude Valley, has a reputation for various things, but is also hope to Brisbane's Chinatown

More like some applicants can't be arsed.
It reminds me of when I started my own company. We used to get a lot of job candidates who were a waste of time and as we were still a very small company it used to waste the time of the few employees we had. I designed a simple test that eliminated 80% of people straight away.
If someone put programming on their CV you'd expect them to be able to write a simple program to convert °C to °F. Don't know if it's got any better but there were a lot of chancers out there back then.

If I was even at the stage of applying to be a citizen of any country, I would have learned the language sufficiently to at least have a go at the test, and not bring an interpreter.
Isnt it 2 years as a perm res before you can apply for citizenship. a lot can be learned in 2 years.

so in an English speaking country they are worried about taking a test...in English? such integration.

I'm having more trouble getting the photos certified than spending time worrying about the test

It is no better than when they used to make the people off the boats in the 50's under white australia policy sit an exam in english and had no printing of the questionnaire in any other language.
the questions are a joke they are not meaningful in any sense. I do now however know that the national flower of austlralia is a wattle or some such perhaps.
