What to bring advice

What to bring advice
This may not apply to everyone but something we have found. We brought 2 4 way adaptors and 1 2 way adaptors and it is not enough. We have 3 kids all with tellies, playstations, dvds and such so they need 1 each in their rooms. The tv, video, dvd etc in the lounge thats another. The computer and all hubbies attached toys 2 needed. Laundry area at least 2way for freezer, washing machine, tumble drier (cant have wm and td on together). My mum has just posted me 4 x 4 at cost of £20 postage and £12 for adaptors. My advice bring at least 6-8, for the sake of £3 each its not a lot to lose. Hubby said it would be cheaper to replace the plugs but I worked out 'plugs and hubby changing them vs 4 way and postage' cheaper/safer 2nd option as hubby not good with electrics.

Very very good advice - houses here have far less power points than most UK places, so bring as many 4-ways as you can!

Changing the plugs are a doddle!! Even my Hubby could do it.
Then you just get powerboards...that way you dont need loads of powerpoints cluttering up your walls....
Well, thats my bit of Aussie logic anyway

You can actually buy UK to Aus adaptors in Australia. I know that Dick Smith Electronics sell them:

Cheaper than getting them posted over!

Its not just about converting, we have 7 of these already and still nowhere near enough, if you take one kids room with only a double socket if you're lucky. One telly, one video/dvd, one playstation, one stereo thats 4 in my case x 3 (3 kids) thats already 12 without microwave and other kitchen bits + all the other stuff, its much easier to come prepared than not. I know its not needed by all people, just a tip for people who need a LOT. Its not until you move that you realise just how many plugs you actually use in one go, no wonder the leccy bill is so bloody high.
