Hi Everyone
Not sure if this has been done or not but just wondering that now you have made the move to Oz, what 5 things would be top of your list to take?
Appart for the obvious, clothes, photos, OH, kids!! & the dog!!

Making the move hopefully July 08 to Perth

Nice to see you've got your priorities right - clothes coming before the OH!

From similar threads Ive seen one of the most important things would be uk to oz converters. Apparently they are quite expensive over.

New clothes (e.g. M&S work shirts, trousers) (more expensive in Aus)
Books (more expensive in Aus)
Specialist items made here but not in Aus (e.g. non-leather/vegan shoes)
New bedding (more expensive in Aus)
Soil (to see the looks on customs officials' faces)

1. A smile.
2. A relaxed attitude.
3. A willingness to try new things (and not say "its not like Tesco's").
4. Patience.
5. Tolerance.

I have heard some people like to take:

Tea bags
Chocolate
UK Marmite (if the kiwi or Oz version doesn't float your boat)
Certain brands of your bathroom/clothing products that you cannot get in Oz - ie M&S, Next
Squash (Aussies like cordials normally)

Plug adaptors and extensions - invaluable in the first few weeks and saves you having to change plugs on everything!

But more importantly an open mind, optimism and the ability to talk!!

Well we can get most food that we like over here at the local supermarket.
If we had our time over again we would bring:
clothes if you like M&S type quality as it is more expensive here.
Probably stock up on books although we can get things over the internet so that isn't too urgent.
custard powder (this is the one thing that we can't get used to over here and we just got a shipment from the UK) but that might be the OH being picky
bedding and towels
We would have brought our china and crystal etc that we sold before heading over here as we could have sold it for much more over here (just one of those things).
Really though we can get most of what we need over here and I rarely feel that we can't get hold of something and we live in a country area so shopping would be much better in the city.
