Whale watching at Warnambool

Well its July tomorrow and whale season, I was thinking of taking the kids to Warnambool for the weekend during July to see the whales, just wondered if anyone had done this before and whether they have any tips on how best to ensure seeing whales, the journey, accommodation, etc etc

Thanks guys

We went at the end of August 2 years ago - we were lucky enough to see six whales! They have a viewing platform to watch from but it's a good idea to take binoculars as well. There's a couple of websites which would be worth a look : http://www.warrnamboolinfo.com.au/

We stayed at a place called Tower Hill between Warrnambool and Port Fairy. There's a fantastic reserve there where you can do short walks and see loads of koalas, emus, wallabies etc. There's a great kids play area at Warrnambool also.

Have fun!
