Westpac - suspension of NEW migrant banking accounts
 

Hi everyone,

I was hoping to open a new Westpac bank account from overseas. This is normally an option and you could open one and deposit money and activate it on arrival. Due to covid they have suspended this option.

Has anyone had any luck bypassing this? We are Australian citizens and my daughter has the right to return, so a bank account is very much needed soon!

For various reasons I’m only interested in Westpac at this time (mostly ease of sending her money, etc).
