Western Sydney the home of temporary protection
You Brits been playing the system , come here find that Sydney is a bit pricy then fall back into your old ways.
Australia's most vulnerable refugees - those on temporary protection visas - are flocking to the western suburbs, where they are overwhelming under-resourced charitable and ethnic organisations, a study to be published tomorrow has shown.
Commissioned by the Western Sydney Regional Organisation of Councils, the study shows more than 50 per cent of the visa holders wind up in Sydney's west.
This is despite Department of Immigration efforts to disperse the refugees by releasing most of them in other states and cities.

Write up in SMH last weekend: immos moving ionto Sydney south of Parramatta River, Aussies moving out just as fast. "Ghettos" is a word that has been mumbled about Sydney for decades. It used to be a nice place until I left.
