You guys in the East have missed the classic comments on talkback radio over here in Perth.

Honestly, it is like living in the land of the shared brain cell. "Kids won't be able to sleep at night" (but they never complain about the fact that before daylight savings they seemed to sleep through it being light at 5am); ""Confused cows" "Who will cook the dinner if the wife is on the beach having a good time because of the light evenings" (said by an MP). "My children will have to get on the bus at 6.15am now" :confused:

It's been cringe worthy.

All the kind of things that are trotted out in Queensland as reasons for not having it.There are genuinely people over here that believe if we get it here then there will be 25 hours in the day :rolleyes:

Unfortunately Outlook is likely to cause meetings to show an hour out (can't remember which way but if its an hour late so people who rely on outlook to know meeting times could turn up for a meeting after its finished. The same thing happenned here in NSW earlier in the year when daylight saving was extended for a week for the closing ceremony of the games, caused a number of problems for us with people having meetings showing at the wrong time. This also causes meetings to show as the wrong time for a week next year once the patch is removed. The problem is that outlook copes with people having meetings in different timezones and whether they are on daylight saving automatically so changing anything in this can confuse it when the meeting was booked prior to the patch being applied .

Now that is pretty poor. If you are in a position in whatever business and you have to rely on Outlook to remind you of a meeting you really shouldn't be in that position. It's hardly rocket science is it! Here's a thought, set your watch. Pen to paper?

How about, 'I must think ahead and liaise with the IT department', but then that would command a prior bit of planning.

You can change the clock on the PC by an hour and everything will fall into place. However you also have to stop your PC clock automatically resyncing. The other alternative is to change your timezone to one that is an hour ahead. The NSW/Vic timezone problem last year could have been solved that way. I didn't bother downloading the fix - I just changed my clock and stopped it automatically synching over the net.
