Wellington point?
we're looking at rentals in the area.
Any advise, or useful links would be great.
Our Uk house is rented from the end of January 2006, so any time after that really.
Getting scary now!!! :scared:

We live in Wellington Point. Its a small place and an established area so have a lot of older properties when you compare it to Thornlands which is down the road and is a suburb full of nice new houses but little infrastucture or character (or shops actually...).
So you'll find the choice in Wellington Point not good as nice houses here for rent get snapped up quickly. That and there is no land development for sale to speak of since its built out, so no new houses. Those developments which are being built are expensive prestige water views.
What you need to do is get here and then whilst using realestate.com.au also phone the local agents for the daily listings. Its not uncommon for listings to go and and be taken same day.
If you are still in the UK then real estate agents will probably not even speak to you as your not in a position to sign a contract and pay them money there and then.
Rental prices are going up, bouyed by the downturn in the property sales, and this time of year is of course historically bad for finding anything, sale or rental.
Hope you have luck and I guess welcome to Wellington Point!

Wellington Point is a nice area - but as a word of warning you will probably find it difficult to find a rental. Rentals are very much in demand & anything of any quality (for lack of a better word! in other words clean & not falling down ) will have about half a dozen tenancy applications. As a consequence, most real estate agents wont even give you the time of day unless you are standing in front of them at the front door, they arent usually interested if you try to contact them from the UK before you leave (unless you are interested in buying of course).
As WW has already posted realestate.com.au is where most of the current rentals are listed, so it may give you an indication of a price & what to expect, although I'm sure that many rentals dont even make it onto the site.
