Default weekends in Perth

Hi there

Just read someone else's post about the best and worst things about Perth. Have been there recently so know there are many fab things about Perth. When we were there, we really loved Mindarie and would definitely consider moving there. My only reservation is what do people generally do at weekends (we have two children age 3 and 1). I know there is an amazing beach in Mindarie and a lovely park but wondering where you would go for a walk, and as the kids get older, take them to ride their bikes. Perhaps this is because there are many new things to do that I haven't considered yet? Any advice??

Thanks

Helen

There's a great shared cycle path/walk way along the foreshore.

We go bike riding all the time. There is a pathway and bike riding path all along the beach from Mullaloo to Hillarys. It is a nice ride, my kids enjoy it and they are 9 and 13. Abit too cold now though, but we always ride around locally as most places are quite flat. Even down the Swan river is a nice place to ride.

Thanks everyone. Great to have some input from those already there when trying to make such a huge decision!

Scuba diving, power-boating, wakeboarding, donuting, kayaking, camping, off-roading , cycling, walking, lots of barbies, lazy weekends in the pool, eating out, Sunday Sessions at the club, movies (drive-in or cinema), nights out, days out (Botanic Golf, The Maze, Adventure World, Hillarys beach, Freo, Mandurah, Whiteman Park, Swan Valley, Rotto, Yanchep, local festivals, Perth Zoo, Kings Park…), Expos (boats, camping etc), gigs, sports events, weekends away… and occasionally we do bugger all for a rest!
