Default Weekend in Sydney.. any suggestions

Hey Guys

We are popping down to Sydney tomorrow for a long weekend, and are looking for ideas?

We've already done the harbour climb, rockies and the opera house last time we were there,

looking for cool cocktail bars, places to rage (its one of our friends birthday on Saturday), and stuff to do during the days...

Any pointers..

Cheers

Shane

You have left it a bit late for planning.

I know... but been busy.. we were up the coast this weekend, and didnt have internet access to research..

Also I am looking for recommendations, city guides are good, but peoples recommendations are much better.

Darling Harbour - most of the bars are pretty busy, just keep going along till you find one you like.

Then you can take a quick walk to Star City Casino (check out what shows are on) or just have a wander around and a quick bet. Make sure you sign up as new members (have driving licence on you) and you get some free bets and things.

will think of some others have some work to do first

Loads of bars around.. depends on your defination of cool though... try newtown for the alternative and/or trendy crowd. Kings Cross is good if you want to get blasted!

Try the walk form Coogee to Bondi if its a nice day... or the botanical gardens and mrs mquaries chair(sp?). Glebe markets on the weekend are fun...catching the ferry to somewhere on the north shore and exploring is always a good day out.

You don't have to do it all in one day.

Our very first visit to Sydney started with a seaplane flight from Newcastle to Rose Bay. It was $100 each back in '98. We have never ever forgotten it and we keep looking for a decent excuse to do one of the trips offered now. But as it is now the city we live in we keep putting it off, silly really.

http://www.seaplanes.com.au/seaplane_packages.htm

There are money off coupons in the Sydney entertainment book so I am sure there will be discounts with the big hotels or tourist books (remember to pick them up as soon as you get in) do not pay full price for any of the attractions there is bound to be a token somewhere.

Have a super weekend

The seaplane trip from Rose Bay to Cottage Point was spectacular, well worth it.
