Weekend away after New Year period,[4-6 Jan 08] 4x4 inland, QLD
Anyone fancy it, a lot of us have been chatting about it. Both personally , in posts, and in messages.
Was thinking we could do a jaunt shortly into the new year, whislt kids are off.
4x4 off road camping expedition, nothing arduous, nothing in sand or sea water.
Leave Friday afternoon, rendezvous somewhere and then head on to the destination. Make camp, get a fire going, crack a few coldies.
Perhaps do a bit of 4bying next day, or leave ppl to own devices to go exploring, stay sat night, have a BBQ JAMBOREE and Partay...
Leave sunday sometime...
Whats your thoughts...

Please please, can you cross a border somewhere and actually leave Queensland.......I'm on duty that week, I want peace and tranquility, not requests to send the SES to dig two dozen poms and their 4 wheel drives out of a creek at the far end of the road west of woop woop

Hi
i have opened the trusty 4wd book (dirty weekends in Queensland)
Landcruiser park is $32 per vehicle for 24 hours, 18 for the day
Alternative could be to camp at Lake Borumba - near Imbil not far off the bruce south of Gympie. There are 3 4wd's in the book in the area. We could meet at Jimna Fire Tower - Jimna is marked on my map stright in from Maroochydore as the bird flies - we can off road from there to the campsite and then Saturday head offon scenic or adventure tours - landcruiser park is not too far either. Sunday those who want could go to the Eumundi markest.
If anyone else has the book i was looking at tours 11,12, 13 There are a couple of other places to camp in the area too. I have been apast lake borumba so i know what that is like - on the edge of a lake!
When - thurs 27-Sat 29, all gte home (we hope) for new year?
or first weekend in Jan 4-6th?
Just some ideas, what do others think??
