Default wedding cake

currently have the top tier of our wedding cake stashed away in a tupaware tub. Nothing out of the ordinary just a regular cake. Would like to take it with us obviously for sentimental reasons. This may be a stupid question but is this a definite no-no?

No. They won't let the tupperware in Already oversupplied

Seriously there are very strict rules on importing any foodstuff and it may depend on what is in the cake.
There was a thread on this not long ago so may be worth a search.

Good luck

Well I took chocolates, tea, herbal teas, herbalife milkshake into oz and declared them no probs.
- I wonder if its a case of" as long as its for your own consumption its ok" ? I've never had a problem taking my own foods into oz- but I've never taken meats- or fruit which are the no nos.
If the wedding cake is a fruit cake taht might make it questionable?
sorry not much help really-

A fruit cake might be OK if it was sealed - my mate brought me two Christmas puddings, still well sealed, declared them, and had no problem.
But he had washed his clothes in apple scented washing powder and the dogs had a field day looking for the apples in his bag!!! The customs guy finally had to resort to sniffing his socks to believe him........!!!

We brought the intricate icing off our wedding cake with us to Oz, just declared it as we went through Customs and had no problems

Funnily enough I was looking at the AQIS site this morning and it specifically mentioned wedding cake. You might want to take a look.

"Fruit cake/wedding cake
Cooked fruit cake (including almond icing and royal icing) is permitted providing it is shelf stable and does not require refrigeration. The cake will need to be declared on your incoming passenger card for an inspection by a quarantine officer who will verify that the above conditions are met."

We took wedding cake in and that was fine.

Dried fruit is ok. Fresh fruit and dairy are big no-nos (although I think milk chocolate is ok).

I hope nuts are ok otherwise hevs won't get her fruit'n'nut!

The Xmas cakes in the shops here are pretty yuk, so last time my mum visited over Xmas, she bought a nice Tesco one with her. The customs man stopped her and she told him her daughter really liked Xmas cake, please let her take it through. He said ok, on one condition, you cut me a slice! What a cheek!
