I'm looking into the possibility of moving to Australia for a job. Are they any good specific job sites I could visit? I'm from London - looking at Web Design roles

Hi mate - I recently worked 3 months in Sydney in a small finance company on a contract was doing testing/business analysis it was all asp.net SQLServer etc but I met quite a few people out there working in Web Design. A lot of that kind of work in Sydney. I was looking at jobs on www.seek.com.au and also www.mycareer.com.au and contacting agents was considering moving out there longer term but back in the UK for now. In any case contacted a lot of agents and one agency was focused solely on design so mainly designers, php developers all that sort of stuff. Unfortunately cant remember their name but will try and find out. I met a few designers out there who had moved on 4year employee sponsorship visa and they said they had gone out to Sydney first to land the job on a long holiday. Not easy to get agents interested when you arent there. Hope that helps.

If you search seek and mycareer you'll most of the design/web jobs tend to be advertised by a few agencies that specialise. I met people who worked for this lot who you could try:

I wouldnt mention my name though as i didnt "know" them just spoke to them but they seem to specialise in web based design etc.

In terms of working over there really depends on your age and visa status. I was over on a working holiday visa and found agents didnt care that i was only on this visa the main things seemed to be (1) you had some form of legal work visa (2) you were in the country and here for a reasonable length of time. Without those 2 things I felt agents werent interested. Things may have changed slightly now however as a result of a worldwide recession. Certainly seemed to be lots of IT work of all sorts when i was out there about 3-4 months back.
