More seriously though- after 6yrs enjoying a tropical climate, exercising outdoors, crosscountry running, football, netball, we returned to uk and BOTH our kids now suffer from exercise induced asthma during the cold UK winter!

But I still prefer Melbourne to Bris. as a place to live:)

All jokes aside about Melbourne having 4, yes 4, seasons in one day, we went down to the Grand Prix and experienced it for ourselves. On the Thursday the ambient temp was 41deg.
This gradually decreased to the Sunday when the temp was not more than 11deg, with locals wearing at least one layer extra under their normal clothes and that was waiting for the rain to come in from Bass Strait every day.

No-one is going to be completely satisfied with the weather but it was a bit of a shock to go from 11deg back to mod-30's whenb we got back to Brisbane.;)

more like 15, maybe more (acclimitisation makes it seem cooler than it is - esp to a QLDander), Hevs I reckon. That day was unusually overcast. Other days surrounding it were mid 20s.

Brisbane.
If you can put up with 2 months of heat you will get 10 months of perfect temperatures. The weather here now is just about perfect, high 20's and should drop down to low 20's in the winter. Friends I have made from Sydney said the sea was freezing there, up here it is lovely and warm.

Most locals say the Winter is amazing here, very moderate and no need for lots of woolies.

It is amazing how quickly you aclimatise, if it drops under 25 at night now I am feeling chilly!!!

Yep I can relate to all you're saying here! we felt cold if the temp dropped to 29c from 33c in Singapore! It was cooler in monsoon season- but I never wore a jumper unless in air conditioning.
