Hi all

finally here, arrived on wed 15th am, after a long flight and stopover in singapore. First impressions, I love it, it is really hot today, hard to imagine cold england at the moment.


We are staying in the CBD, and have been exploring we have just got back from Mount Eliza where we had lunch and went for a walk in Mornington.

Hope to get out and look at ferntree gully and surounding areas tomorrow.

Kids are happy, found a hard rock cafe and nandos!!

The goodbyes at the airport were really hard, but now we are actually here, it does not seem so bad the last week in england was definately the hardest.

Hope you will all be on that plane soon.

What part of Melbourne are you going to live in? Im struggling trying to figure out which part of Melbourne we're going to when we get our visas. So any comments about areas you like would be fab.

We have rented a lovely house in Mount eliza, but we looked at many areas, the reason we chose ME was it felt right, very villagey, and near the sea, in fact we have a sea glimpse from the house. We also visited the local school, and the head seemed really nice, school not very big and the children have bay views from the classroom!!

We also liked the country areas like Olinda, Upper Ferntree Gully but found them a little remote, it all really depends on what you are looking for, one thing that has disappointed us was all the graffitti everywhere on walls peoples fences everywhere even in the nicer areas, but there was hardly any in Mount Eliza.

If you need any more info, let me know, we have had a lovely day today xmas shopping in 35 degrees, I understand it is very cold where you are.

We are in Mentone a bit further in towards Melbourne but also on the coast. We really like it here too - there are fabulous drives and places to see all along the Mornington Penninsula. Hope we meet up in the new year. Have a great christmas.
