Default We just bought a business in Adelaide!!

Well next Friday we will of been here a year in sunny old Adelaide and before we left the shores of the UK we have 5 things we wanted to achieve within the first 2 years and we have achieved them ALL within a year!

We basically signed the forms on our new Stainless Steel Fabrication company yesterday and so officially open up for business on Tuesday!! VERY scarey but seems already there is a lot of work out there waiting to be done so will keep us very busy!! (Well hopefully!?!?!?)

The company we have bought is in the City and we are specialising in Stainless Steel and Aluminium Fabrication, so if you need any works undertaken feel free to PM for more information!

I think looking at what we have achieved in a year we are so pleased with ourselves, (well no one else will pat us on the backs!!) just wanted to say to others that its all there if you are determined enough to get out there and get it!

If we had stayed in the UK we would still be there having a good life (as it was ok) and plodding along, working to pay the bills and the mortgage, here we work to have fun, our social life is so full and active, always here there and everywhere and there seems to be so many more opportunities here!

CONGRATULATIONS - I'll pat you on your back

It is soooo nice to hear that your plans are all falling into place - lets just hope you don't get that much work that you have no time to play!!!

Thank you!

Well it may be that the first 12 months are going to be busy, we can cope with that, then we will look to take others on board. What a fantastic position to be able to pick and choose which work you want to do and which ones you dont!! An ideal situation you wont hear us complaining!

Thank you everyone for your kind words, there are a lot of different things to get your head around here, but fingers crossed we will be ok!

Think we both felt nothing ventured nothing gained in the whole scheme of things, but now we done it feels like it is the right thing to have done, BUT it is still early days!!

Wow, congratulations guys. Takes me back a wee bit. I used to be a buyer for a fabrications company in the UK. Used to make farm and gas equipment!

Cheers

Hi guys

Can I ask a couple of questions of you.

We own a business hear in Portsmouth UK. Manufacturing some ventilation products and offering out some limited sheet metal work on out cnc turret punch (we dont do welding or work in stainless/ alloy)

Currently looking at Adelaide over Melbourne. Looks better from a living point of view, but what about business prospects.

Are thoughts are either buying an existing small sheetmetal shop and introducing our product range or starting from scratch (cnc turret punch, laser, press brakes).

Are there many prospects for these industries in Adelaide still, are things on the decline ? Does the SA government help in any way or just fill you with red tape and fees ?. On industrial property, is there business rates as in the UK ?

Regards Paul
