We have got our NZ Visa's....YIPPEEEE
Dear All
Nick and I have received our NZ Visa's. We had intended to go the Residency/Job Search Visa direction, but with all the changes last year it just wasnt going to work plus the much longer processing time too.
So we decided to go for Plan B. At first this was going to be just go over and see if we can make it on our own. Everyone was saying how difficult it was to get a job before you go but thought it was worth a try and we were really suprised that Nick got several very keen offers.....never say never thats our moto from now on.
Have gone ahead with an offer from a very good company in Kerikeri, Northland. Decent salary and very helpful with our problems and questions and they are going to pay for a motel for us for the first two weeks which is a great help.
Work Visa's took about 5 weeks to come through because of Xmas plus NZIS London say that they have had a very big demand for Work Visa's and the processing time is about 5 - 6 weeks. Our Visa's are for 3 years and we can renew them as necessary indefinately.
We have sorted out tenants for our house and all the other complicated things that you have to do in the UK before you can leave. Booked flights with Air New Zealand for Sunday 9th February and will arrive in Auckland on Tuesday 11th after a few hours stop in Los Angeles (so we get the big baggage allowance!!)
Thank you everyone for your advice, support and stuff. Its such a feeling of satisfaction when everything is finally coming together. Never though we would actually be able to get there. Although twinges of anticipation etc etc there's the same if not more of excitment, curiousity etc.
For those still waiting or wondering if you can make it. GO FOR IT. There is always a way.
Good luck and lots of love to everyone.
All our love

Fantastic news, hope you all enjoy your new lives.
Good idea to go via the states. Does the flight take longer going this way?
