we got our visa at last
hi guys i haven't posted on here much but have kept upto date reading how everyone is getting on, we came to Melbourne in sep 2004 on 457 visa I'm a midwife& hubby engineer. We applied for 136 independent in July 2005, as we found the 457 restricting in a few ways!!!! 
we have had a roller coaster trying to get 136, as CO wanted to recheck my references from my UK job even though i left in July 2004
and have been working in oz for 10 mths at time of applying. It is very frustrating but want to wish everyone good luck and hang in there its all worth it in the end.Paula and gang

yes certainly did serve purpose and we are very relieved it over with now, some how i thought it would be walk in park so to speak to get the 136 but not so
but we can get on with our lifes nowpaula
