Question Water Sports and Activities in WA

Hi Everyone,
WA has a beautiful coastline, simply stunning but can i ask if families are confident in letting their young families swim in the Indian or do they tend to play at the seaside and swim in pools, whether their own or public, what is common practice?
Also,we love Kayaks and canoes,is this a big sport out there and is there this type of sport allowed/available on lake Joondalup?
We are considering bringing out kayaks with us when we move, are they reasonable/available there?
Lynn

hahha Lake Joondalup... i will try and find a pic of what it looks like now.

But in winter there is alot of kayaking and have the Avon decent which is an anual race down some white water from northam to Perth.

Yeah can swim in the ocean, but people need to learn and respect the power the water has. There is actually a Cottesloe to Rotto swim each year aswell.
