They're already in nsw http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/roadsafety...t-map_0210.pdf
Although from that map they are outside Sydney metro which is the sticks to me. I don't stray that far from the water.

Phew. Nice to see there aren't any on the Barrier Highway. We managed to get 160 out of my mediocre box when we drove to Broken Hill...

Thats 99mph  its the standard speed on the M40 and M6 back home. In fact its the perfect speed to avoid a ban on the motorway, hit that 100mph and its instant ban.
German Autobahn is what we need, I hear you get a ticket for driving anything less than 120mph on it

:)

Been a long time since I got to 99mph, and now I have a family I don't miss it.

I remember doing 120mph (in a BMW ha!) approaching the Channel ports through Belgium at night about 10 years ago. To be honest, I'm not sure why - I could easily expect to get caught, and it was stupid. I'm not trying to say it's the fastest mankind has ever driven - but it's fast enough to be a worry.

Totally agree on the speeding cameras and bad driving, however the UK is way way worse for speeding detection now with the average speed cameras they use there. If one bastard device was ever invented it is that, and they've no doubt fixed the inability of it to work if you've changed lanes by now. Australia being behind the times in most things is a benefit that in that we don't have these yet.

Yes we do. They've just placed one on a stretch of the Bruce Highway south of Caloundra, Qld. Not sure if its active yet but its certainly built.

Particularly weird place to put it as the Bruce between Caloundra and Caboolture is just about the safest part of that highway, in my opinion.

Actually this point to point (average speed) camera system has been in Australian use since around 2007, but only for commercial vehicles.

Here is a news report of one in Victoria in July 2007 http://www.caradvice.com.au/4052/poi...first-mistake/

Yes, there's a P-2-P setup on the Pacific Highway between Sydney and Newcastle for trucks. Been there since I have been here.
