LOL!

I'd say avoid Hotpoint washer/dry combos as they have lots of problems.

    We've just been through the same dilemma, to buy or not to buy.
    Decided to buy in the UK as good, front loader machines with higher spin speeds and larger kg loads seem twice as expensive in Oz.
    If you buy in the UK, the warranty is valid for the UK only, not globally. Also if any of the bigger electrical stores tell you their 'extended' warranty cover is valid overseas, it's actually not - check the small print first.
    We went for LG - although their reputation in the UK seems to be that they are at the cheaper end of the market, they are much more popular in Oz and can be serviced easier (should anything happen, which it hopefully won't 'cos we've got no warranty...) and they seem to be reliable.
    This website was quite useful in finding out what brands are more commonly available in Oz www.retravision.com.au and www.kelkoo.co.uk is a good one for comparing prices in the UK.
