cool house hope you don't mind me being nosey but what is the rough cost of a new build acroos in oz is it a better route to go down rather than buying off the shelf.

Yes I would like to know aswell please, ive nearly finished mine here and said I would never do it again but now im nearly done and hoping to be over there next summer Its a route I would like to take, Some costs please

No worries (as the locals say)

The land was $208000 that gets ya a 700sqm block - although prices have gone up significantly where we are and you are now probably looking at $240000 ish.

The house is just over $400000, we are also contemplating a pool which for a 9.4 x 4.4 fibreglass with fencing and the like will be about $40000.

Other costs to consider is fitting the house out with stuff - curtains ($6100), gardening ($7500), sofas, TV's, dishwashers, TV aerial, washing line, lawnmower etc etc etc!!
